Bernard Barry: A lifelong trade union and political activist in Manchester, Bernard Barry (Baruch Simon Babinsky), died in Nov aged 94. As a young communist league member, he campaigned in the 1930s against fascism and in support of the Spanish Republic. Decades later, he researched and authored the booklet 'From Manchester to Spain' about the Manchester volunteers in the International Brigades, it was published in 2009 by the Working Class Movement Library in Salford where he was a volunteer researcher for many years.
